Nambour Print Centre has marked its recovery from last year’s devastating flood with a major investment in a new digital printing press that significantly expands the work it can handle locally.
The Price Street business, which celebrates 20 years at its current premises this year, has expanded its capacity despite owners Peter and Jeannie Rosendale initially fearing the March 10, 2025 flood would force them into retirement.
After a major clean-up and the replacement of much of their damaged equipment, the couple decided to continue, encouraged by the support they received from customers and the wider Nambour community.
Peter and Jeannie said they were overwhelmed by the many locals, including loyal customers, who helped them through the clean-up and recovery.
Sunshine Coast Business Solutions, the local Fuji Xerox supplier, provided replacement printers so the business could keep operating, while the Rotary Club of Nambour made a donation towards repairing its guillotine.
The business has now taken another major step forward with the installation of a digital press.
“It’s a press more than a copier. It’s great for bigger print runs and it’s a major step up for us,” Peter said. “It can handle larger sheets and produce collated, folded and stapled booklets of up to about 60 pages, so there is now a much wider range of printing work we can complete here in Nambour. Perfect for programs, guides, newsletters etc.”
The machine can print on sheets up to 1200mm long and 330mm wide. It also includes scanning and imposition software to streamline production.
The expanded equipment means the centre can handle jobs ranging from business cards, flyers and brochures to booklets, plans, patterns and other larger-format work.
Experienced printer Mick Gilmour joined Nambour Print Centre in March and is operating the new press.
Mick has worked in the printing industry for 54 years, while he and Peter have a combined 110 years of experience across Victoria, the Northern Territory, the ACT and Queensland.
Peter said the business had grown largely through word-of-mouth recommendations.
